Toona, a curious and adventurous fish, has spent their life exploring the ocean, occasionally peering at the mysterious world above. After getting caught in a fishing net, they meet some human fishermen who are just as intrigued by them as they are by the humans. As Toona gets to know these fishermen better, their fascination with the human land grows, and they decide they must see it for themselves. Their first visit to shore is overwhelming as crowds gather and stare, making them feel out of place. It's then that they realize they need a way to blend in as a human if they are to explore these lands above.Toona hears tale of a powerful witch, Woney Von Wonnington, and seeks him out through a strange ritual involving a mango. Though he initially refuses their request, Woney is eventually swayed by Toona’s heartfelt desire to explore the land they are so curious about. He agrees to help them on the condition that Toona assists him in gathering the magical ingredients necessary to brew the potion. Together, they embark on a perilous journey across dimensions, narrowly escaping danger to retrieve the necessary reagents.It is within this journey that Toona meets some of their greatest friends. While searching for the rare blossoms of Kokomori Forest, they encounter the beautiful vampire bat-dragon, Xenia. Vibrant and warm-hearted, Xenia eagerly joins their quest, revealing that she also has a human disguise named Jay. As they travel together, Toona and Xenia form a deep bond, recognizing something familiar in each other. Jay, as clever as she is beautiful, shows Toona the joy of mischief and adventure, proving that embracing both sides of oneself can be a strength rather than a burden.While seeking the notorious feathers of the Blanket Fort, Toona meets Tygi, a cozy and kind-hearted tiger monster-girl who happily welcomes them into her fortress. Tygi, the master of being comfy, teaches Toona the values and importance of rest and self-care. Tygi’s kindness is warm and vibrant. She makes every moment feel lighter, reminding Toona that comfort isn’t just found, but shared. Through late-night talks wrapped in many fluffy blankets, Toona and Tygi’s friendship becomes one of comfortable joy and care, a bond that feels like home.Through all this, Toona and Woney grow closer. Though the witch is reluctant and gruff at first, he finds himself endeared by Toona’s boundless curiosity and infectious enthusiasm. What starts as an obligation to guide Toona through the journey shifts into genuine companionship. Woney teaches Toona about magic and the strange wonders of the world, while Toona reminds Woney of the beauty in genuine connection and adventure. By the time their quest is complete, Toona has found a true friend in Woney.After all of the ingredients have been gathered, Woney brews a potion that allows Toona to take human form, but with strict conditions: one sip is all it takes, the transformation lasts indefinitely unless disrupted by stress or panic, only Woney can provide refills, and no one else can drink the potion. For the final and perhaps most important rule, Woney tells Toona that they must use their newfound form to make as many friends as possible. Toona eagerly agrees and drinks the potion.As they step into the world in their new human form, Toona realizes they’ve already begun to fulfill the final rule of Woney's conditions. Woney’s magic may allow them to walk among humans, but it’s the friendships they’ve made so far that have truly started their journey. No spell could ever compare to the warmth, trust, and love they’ve found in their companions. With their friends by their side, Toona's journey ahead feels limitless and never-ending.And so, Toona sets off into the world, looking to make as many friends as they can. The road ahead is filled with endless possibilities. Whether it's yapping away to fill the silence, cheering up friends on their worst days, or making others laugh with their endless shenanigans, Toona is determined to make the world a brighter place, one friendship at a time.
